The Evolution of Campbell Heritage

Updated: Oct 13, 2024

Campbell Heritage 2.0? This journey began during my time at Willowbank School of Restoration Arts, where I pursued a degree in Heritage Conservation. Initially, Campbell Heritage was a space for me to share the fascinating courses I was taking and the beautiful old architecture I encountered and worked on. Along the way, I discovered a passion for making stained glass, and Campbell Heritage naturally evolved into a stained glass company of sorts.

However, my heart has always been in heritage conservation. As a project manager in this field, I've had the privilege of working on some incredible projects, including the restoration of the oldest house in St. Catharines. Alongside these projects, I've met many skilled heritage tradespeople whose craftsmanship deserves to be celebrated.

Going forward, Campbell Heritage will shift its focus to highlight these talented individuals and their remarkable work. Through my blog, I will share their stories, showcase their skills, and document the conservation projects I'm involved in. This transition feels like a natural progression, aligning more closely with my original vision for Campbell Heritage.

In addition to featuring tradespeople involved in built heritage conservation, I will also spotlight craftspeople who use traditional skills, tools, and methods to create various handmade items. Whether it's woodworking, metalworking, textile arts, or other forms of traditional craftsmanship, their dedication to preserving these artisanal practices will be celebrated here.

Join me as I delve into the world of heritage conservation, sharing the artistry and dedication that goes into preserving our history. Together, we'll explore the craftsmanship that keeps our heritage alive.
